INVESTORS EYEING NICKEL IN SOUTH KONAWE
Kendari, Nov 9(ANTARA) - Mining companies have started eyeing the nickel potentials in South Konawe regency, Southeast Sulawesi.
South Sulawesi Regent Imran said here on Sunday that PT Gerbang Masyarakat Sejahtera (GMS) has expressed the regency's serious interest in investment in the area.
The development crash program of South Konawe should not merely rely on the government, but needs the participation of investors.
He also reminded the people not to be afraid of losing their land or employment because the government will see to it that it does not happen by paying proper attention to the needs of the people.
Government and Community Relations Manajer of PT Oxindo Exploration Yustinus Widodo said that early in 2009 the company will start explorations in the area.
