Dawah Organization Announces Ambitious Plan for Africa

Doha, July 14 (QNA) - Office of Islamic Dawah Organization in the State of Qatar announced here today that it prepared an ambitious plan during the holy month of Ramadan focusing on vital and essential projects that will provide the necessary services for the poor and the needy in many African countries. In an exclusive interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA) ,Director of the Organization's office in Doha, Sheikh Hammad Abdul Qadir appealed to Qatari citizens and residents to continue to support and spend on the organization's projects in 40 African countries, saying the Muslims in African countries always thank the Qatari people especially during the holy month of Ramadan for their assistance and for alleviating a lot of their suffering and hardship of the challenges of poverty, hunger, ignorance, disease, thirst and disasters. He noted that the needy and the poor in the African continent are in dire need of such vital projects, especially water , health, education and infrastructure projects, sponsorship of orphans and widows as well as preaching projects and other necessities of daily life. Sheikh Hammad said that the organization's office in Doha has received since the beginning of the month of Shaban and till now more than 36 projects from the organization's missions in Africa, adding those projects need to be implemented in the said sectors. He expressed full confidence in the Qatari people's to response to calls of the organization for the implement of those projects, especially in African countries in which the numbers of Muslims are on the rise. He pointed out that the Doha Office has organized Iftar projects in 20 African countries in addition to the projects of distributing Zakat al-Fitr and Eid clothing as well as Rahman tables and basket . Sheikh Hammad said the organization's office in Doha has fulfilled 50 percent of its pledges for Iftar in Africa and will dispatch the other 50 percent in the next few days. Some Qatari nationals have built mosques in a number of African countries and the office now is focusing on Ramadan tables for students, camps, boarding schools and in addition to a baskets of families and iftar of individual, Sheikh Hammad said. He expressed sincere congratulations and thanks to HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan for their support for the humanitarian work, a matter which makes Qatar a pioneer in the charitable domain due to our religion which calls for strengthening and embodying meanings of compassion, solidarity, cooperation and mutual assistance in the finest and noblest form. Sheikh Hammad stressed that Qatar remained always supportive of issues of the nation and its excellent initiatives in the field of charitable and humanitarian work, which put it at the top of the world countries that adopted innovative projects.(QNA)
