Diesel prices to drop by 60 fils
Dubai, Nov 9, 2008 (WAM) - Dubai-based oil retailers Emarat, Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc) and Emirates Petrochemical Products Company (Eppco) will drop their diesel prices at the pump by Dh0.60 per gallon starting tomorrow.
The new measure, which is the 10th of its kind to take place since international prices for crude oil reached around $150 per barrel in July before starting a decline, will bring the current price of diesel at the three companies' outlets in Dubai and the northern emirates to Dh13.95 from Dh14.55 earlier.
"We have been watching the fluctuating international prices of crude oil over the past week and, logically, we have no reasons not to continue reducing prices at the pump if international prices are going down as well," an Emarat official, who wanted his name withheld, told Emirates Business. "Diesel prices at Emarat will drop by Dh0.60 starting Monday," he said. At Enoc, a spokesperson said: "As long as international prices of crude oil keep going down, we will reduce our prices for diesel here in the UAE. We are constantly studying the situation before deciding on any reductions."
Emarat, Enoc and Eppco co-ordinate among themselves for deciding the price of diesel in Dubai and the northern emirates.
Diesel has been stable at Dh8.65 per gallon at Adnoc stations.
