UAE team clinches world endurance title

Dubai, Nov 9, 2008 (WAM) - UAE clinched FEI World Endurance Championship 2008 teams title after finishing first in the competition, held yesterday at the Malaysia's Terengganu International Endurance Park.

Benefiting from the directives of Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and supervision of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the UAE team members, led by H.H. Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Culture '&' Arts Foundation, reached the finishing line in a total time of 27 hours, 57 minutes and 59 seconds. The Qatari team followed, registering 28: 47: 17 time.

The individual title was won by Spanish rider Maria Mercedes.
