BODIES OF AMROZI, MUKLAS ARRIVE IN LAMONGAN

Lamongan, Indonesia, Nov 9 (ANTARA) - The bodies of Amrozi and Ali Gufron alias Muklas, death-row convicts in the 2002 Bali bombing who were executed early Cilacap, Central Java on Sunday, arrived in their mother's residence in Tenggulun village, Lamongan, East Java at 9.30 am.

Two helicopters carrying the bombers' bodies landed in a square of Bulubangsari village, Laren sub-district, Lamongan district. They were then picked up with ambulance cars which took them to the mourning house in Tenggulun village, Solokuro subdistrict.

Attorney General's Office (AGO)Spokesman Jasman Pandjaitan said earlier that the execution of three Bali bombers was carried out at 0.15 a.m. Sunday (Nov.9).

"At 0.15 (local time) Amrozi, Mukhlas and Imam Samudra were executed by a firing squad," Jasman said at a press conference in Jakarta on early Sunday, adding that an autopsy had been carried out to confirm their death.

Their bodies were planned to be sent to their respective villages on Sunday, namely Amrozi and Mukhlas to Lamongan district, East Java province, while Imam Samudra to Serang, Banten province.

Amrozi, Mukhlas and Iman Samudra are on death row for their roles in the bombings in Bali in October 2002 that left more than 200 people dead including many Australian tourists.
