AZERBAIJANI MINISTER OF NATIONAL SECURITY ATTENDS CONFERENCE OF TURKIC SPEAKING COUNTRIES

Baku, 8 November,(AzerTAj)Azerbaijani Minister of National Security Eldar Mahmudov attended the 11th meeting of the conference of heads of security services of Turkic speaking countries in Astana, Kazakhstan.

High on the meeting`s agenda was enhancement of cooperation in fighting against
transnational organized crime, international terror, extremism and illegal drugs
turnover.
The Azerbaijani Minister addressed the event on “New achievements in combating
international terrorist infrastructures in the Turkic speaking states.”
Mahmudov stressed the importance of strengthening security of international
transport corridors and transnational energy networks. The Azerbaijani minister also
touched upon prospects for expanding cooperation among Turkic speaking countries`
security authorities.
The Azeri Minister had several bilateral meetings with his foreign counterparts on
the sidelines of the meeting.
