ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE CONFIRMS BALI BOMBERS' EXECUTION
Jakarta, Nov.9 (ANTARA) - Attorney General's Office (AGO)
Spokesman Jasman Pandjaitan confirmed that the execution of three Bali bombers on death row -- Amrozi, Mukhlas and Imam Samudra had been carried out at 0.15 a.m. Sunday (Nov.9).
"At 0.15 (local time) Amrozi, Mukhlas and Imam Samudra were executed by a firing squad," Jasman said at a press conference in Jakarta on early Sunday, adding that an autopsy had been carried out to confirm their death.
He also said that more details would be made public later on Sunday.
Their bodies were planned to be sent to their respective villages on Sunday, namely Amrozi and Mukhlas to Lamongan district, East Java province, while Imam Samudra to Serang, Banten province.
Amrozi, Mukhlas and Iman Samudra are on death row for their roles in the bombings in Bali in October 2002 that left more than 200 people dead including many Australian tourists.
