Attorney General Takes Part in International Law Commission's Meeting

Geneva, July 07 (QNA) - The sixty-fifth session of the International Law Commission's second meeting was held here on Sunday with the participation of HE Dr. Ali bin Fetais Marri, Attorney General and member of the Commission. The meeting discussed the development of legislations that protect people during disasters and means of preventing such disasters on the international and multilateral levels through a proposal aimed at establishing national agencies specializing in this field and working on the assessment and collection of information on the risks; in addition to setting preparedness Standards through laws binding on national authorities. The Committee agreed to submit draft articles on ways meant to promote sustainable development, prevent cross-border impacts and urge countries to further cooperate and coordinate to create legislation in conformity with the spirit of the International Law.
