BODIES OF LANDSLIDE VICTIMS IN AGAM DISTRICT FOUND
Padang, Indonesia, Nov 8 (ANTARA) - The bodies of two of six victims of a landslide that happened on Friday night in Jorong Sisikan and Tobob in the sub district of Malalak, Agam, West Sumatra, were found on Saturday.
Efforts to find the four others meanwhile were still being continued, Malalak sub district chief Dandi Pribadi said here on Saturday.
The bodies of Mediana Saprina (13) and Nida (45) were found under the mud at a location 600 meters from their house on the same day.
Dandi said efforts were still being made to find the bodies of Syahrul Safar (9), Darius St Makmur (70), Nadir Saf (55) and Rizal (5) while two wounded victims namely Suci Angraini (15) and Asnimar (60) had been taken to the hospital.
Around 200 people had been evacuated in neighbouring areas or left their homes after floods caused by overflowing Batang Babura Malalak river inundated their village.
The flood which occurred after heavy rain in the region also carried away two bridges, toppled three electrity poles, damaged five houses and carried away two others. It had also inundated 400 hectares of paddy fields.***
