Qatar's Permanent Committee in Support of Jerusalem Meets

Doha, July 03 (QNA) - Qatar's Permanent Committee in Support of Jerusalem held at the Foreign Ministry Headquarters today a meeting, which discussed the new development projects in the Occupied Jerusalem relating to education, health and social sectors. In attendance of the meeting, which was presided over by Qatar's Ambassador to Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League, HE Saif bin Muqqadam Al Buainain, were members of the Committee on the Qatari side, Palestinian Authority official for Jerusalem Affairs, Hatem Abdul Qader, Sheikh Dr. Ikrima Sa'id Sabri, head of the Supreme Islamic Council and the Al Aqsa Mosque preacher along with the Committee members Dr. Haitham al-Hasan and Abdul Qadir Al-Khatib. Addressing the meeting, HE Al Buainain stressed the State of Qatar under the wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Qatari people's support of the Palestinian cause, noting that today's meeting aims at supporting Jerusalem and its people's steadfast, an objective, which has been acknowledged by the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, in all previous meetings and conferences held in support for the Palestinian cause in general and Jerusalem in particular. He referred in this context to Qatar's proposal to set up a USD 1 billion fund for Jerusalem, in which Qatar contributes USD 250 million announced during the recent Arab summit in Doha. The meeting reviewed the projects carried out by the Committee during the past year in health, education and social and sports sectors and also discussed the new proposed projects, HE Al Buainain told Qatar News Agency (QNA).
