Remarks of Advisory Council Secretary General

Doha, July 01 (QNA) - HE the Secretary-General of the Advisory Council Fahd bin Mubarak Al-Khayareen extended thanks and gratitude for HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for their generous and continuous support of the Council. In a statement on the occasion of the end of the Council's 41st regular session, HE Al-Khayareen extended thanks to the Government for its cooperation with the Council. He, as well, lauded the tireless efforts exerted by HE the Council's Speaker, HE the Deputy Speaker and the esteemed council members, expressing thanks to the council's General Secretariat. HE the Secretary-General of the Advisory Council, in his statement, reviewed the topics discussed by the Council in its 41st regular session 2012-2013 which include: First, Decree-Laws 1/ Decree-Law No. 3 of 2012 licensing the Ministry of Economy and Finance to establish two Qatari joint stock companies and conclude agreements with them for the issuance of Islamic bonds. 2/ Decree-Law No. 11 of 2012 on government regulations of buying and selling chemicals and petrochemicals produced in Qatar. Second, Draft Laws 1/ Draft Law to amend some provisions of Law No. 12 of 1972 on forced pricing and determining of profits. 2/ Draft Law on Qatari Flag. 3/ Draft Law to amend some provisions of Law No. 18 of 1997 on Qatar Scouts and Guides Association. 4/ Draft Law to exempt Qatar Rail Way Company (RAIL) from some expropriation rules and to organize its rights on some public and private properties. 5/ Draft Law on chemical weapons 6/ Draft Law to regulate maritime work in Qatari Waters 7/ Draft Law to amend some provision of Law No. 19 of 2005 regulating the practice of the engineering professions. 8/ Draft Law on the organizing fof exhibitions. 9/ Draft Law to issue the common regulations for anti-dumping and countervailing and preventive measures for the GCC States. 10/ Draft Law to regulate real estate. 11/ Draft Law to amend some of the provisions of the Labor Law issued by Law No.14 for 2004. 12/ Draft Law to amend some of the provisions of Advocacy law issued by Law No. 23 for 2006. 13/ Draft Law on Social Health Insurance. 14/ Draft Law on genetic fingerprinting. 15/ Draft Law to regulate practicing Hajj and Umrah services. 16/ Draft Law to regulate nurseries. 17/ Draft Law to amend some provisions of Law No. 7 for 2007 on adjudication of administrative disputes. 18/ Draft Law on tax on revenues of hotels and tourist restaurants. 19/ Draft Law to amend some provisions of Decree Law No 21 for 2006 on private institutions of public interest 20/ Draft Law to establish Health and Education Fund. 21/ Draft Law to amend some provisions of Law No 14 for 1999 on weapons, ammunition and explosives. 22/ Draft Law to exempt some contracts of Qatar Airways and Qatar Aviation Lease Company from income tax.
