France to support bilingual classes in Vietnam
Hanoi (VNA) - French Government will provide 200,000 EUR for Vietnam to develop French-Vietnamese bilingual classes.
An agreement to this effect was signed by French Ambassador to Vietnam
Herve Bolot and Standing Deputy Minister of Training and Education, Prof.
Banh Tien Long in Hanoi on November 6.
Under the agreement, half of the fund will be used to modify the bilingual
teaching programme equip all bilingual classes with specialised devices and
organise refresher courses for all primary teachers in the third week of
November.
The remainder will be spent on buying audiovisual equipment, books and
teaching documents for schools teaching French-Vietnamese bilingual classes
nationwide.
The bilingual classes have opened in Vietnam since 1994. So far, more
than 5,000 pupils have graduated from senior schools with the French
language certificates.-Enditem
