BRI WAITS FOR FUND SETTLEMENT IN INDOVER
Jakarta, Nov 6 (ANTARA) - BRI, one of the leading state banks in Indonesia, was still waiting for the settlement the placement of 60 million US dollars in Indover Bank.
"Currently BRI is waiting for the settlement of the matter which is being handled by a court of law in the Netherlands," Sofyan Basyir, BRI director said here on Friday.
Basyir said that the previously formed loan abolition reserve was enough to cover the impeded exposures in Indover Bank while it was frozen in Netherlands.
The stuck BRI fund in Indover bank was the biggest compared to those of three other state banks, namely US$60 million of BRI, US$55 million of Bank Mandiri, and US$27 million of BNI.
The total potential loss reached 197 million US dollars or Rp2 trillion.
