Military exercise "Nomadic elephant" runs

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ An opening ceremony of the military exercise “Nomadic elephant” took place on Thursday at ground of the Khujirbulan, Ulaanbaatar city. It is co-organized by the Armed Forces of Mongolia and the Republic of India for the ninth time. Present at the the opening ceremony were P.Tsagaan, head of the Presidential Office; Major-General Z.Boldbaatar, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense and Lieutenant-General Ts.Byambajav, head of the General Headquarters of Mongolian Armed Forces; Mr Satbir Singh, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Mongolia, Mr Shailesh Lakhtakia, the Second Secretary of the Embassy of India and Colonel I.S.Samuel, the military attache for the Embassy of India. During the military exercise, special military officials of the two countries will share experience on peacekeeping operations and anti-terrorism and will improve the knowledge on the issues. First joint military exercise of Mongolia and India was held in 2004.
