Deputy PM receives Kuwait petroleum corporation`s CEO

Hanoi (VNA) - The cooperation between PetroVietnam and the Kuwait National
Petroleum Corporation (KNPC) to build the Nghi Son oil refinery will open up
exchange opportunities in many other fields between the two countries, a
Vietnamese government leader said.

Receiving KNPC's CEO Saad Al Shuwaib in Hanoi on Nov. 6, Permanent Deputy
Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung assured the Kuwaiti businessman that
Vietnam will not be seriously affected by the world financial crisis as
the majority of the country's main export items are essential goods, such as
garment and textile products, farm produce and food.

He also affirmed that Vietnam has sufficient internal strength to
overcome the current difficulties, which is reflected through its success in
reining in inflation and maintaining a development growth rate of 6.5-7
percent.

The KNPC CEO said he hoped that Kuwait will be able to expand Nghi Son
oil refinery project as well as promote investment in telecom and the
building of international exhibition facilities in Vietnam .

Kuwait 's businesses will study the feasibility of investment into
Vietnam , he affirmed.-Enditem
