General government budget in statistics

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the first five months of this year, total equilibrated revenue and grants of the General Government Budget (GGB) amounted to MNT 2,011.4 billion, and total expenditure and net lending amounted to MNT 1,872.1 billion, representing surplus of MNT 139.3 billion in the equilibrated balance of GGB. GGB's current revenue amounted to MNT 2,011.2 billion and current expenditure reached MNT 1,695.3 billion. Thus, the budget equilibrated current balance was in surplus of MNT 315.9 billion. Tax revenue increased by MNT 164.6 billion or 10.1 per cent against the previous year due to the increases of MNT 87.6 billion or 14.5 per cent in taxes on goods and services, MNT 82.6 billion or 24.0 per cent in income tax, MNT 62.5 billion or 25.4 per cent in social security contribution. However, there were decreases of MNT 66.9 billion or 22.7 percent in other taxes and MNT 6.4 billion or 4.9 percent in taxes on foreign trade. Non-tax revenue increased MNT 32.4 billion or 17.5 per cent against the previous year due to the increases of MNT 30.3 billion or 2.3 times in revenues from oil petroleum, MNT 12.5 billion or 15.4 per cent in revenues from budget entities, MNT 7.1 billion or 36.3 per cent in revenues from interest and fines, although there were decreases of MNT 14.0 billion or 78.6 per cent in revenues from dividends and MNT 5.6 billion or 22.7 per cent in revenues from others. Total expenditure and net lending of the GGB decreased by MNT 1,872.1 billion or 15.8 per cent to MNT 352.4 billion against the previous year. This was mainly due to increases of MNT 148.9 billion or 20.5 per cent in expenditure of goods and services, MNT 7.7 billion or 20.8 per cent in interest payments, although there were decreases of MNT 243.5 billion or 23.9 per cent subsidies and transfers, MNT 230.1 billion or 57.0 times in capital expenditure, MNT 35.3 billion or 91.8 per cent in lending minus repayments.
