President receives NDI director

SANA'A, Nov. 06 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh received on
Thursday resident director of the National Democratic Institute
(NDI) Peter Dimitrov.

During the meeting, they discussed activities of the institute and
its efforts in supporting the democratic process in Yemen.

Dimitrov praised the democratic movement in Yemen and development
witnessed by the Yemeni democratic experience, reaffirming support
for the Yemeni democratic process and the coming parliamentary
elections which will be held in April 2009.

President Saleh praised the role of the NDI since 18 years in
supporting democratic development in Yemen, noting that the
institute has big activities and participations in spreading the
culture of democracy without any interference in the local affairs.

Saleh made clear that all political forces in the Yemeni shall make
use of the positive experiences of others and not to claim
perfection and knowledge in order to reinforce the positives and
avoid mistakes.
