UNTIL THURSDAY, BALI I BOMBERS YET TO BE EXECUTED
Cilacap, Nov 6 (ANTARA) - Until Thursday (Nov 6), the three Bali bombing I death row convicts currently being held in a prison on Nusakambangan Island, have yet to be executed.
Antara sources in Nusakambangan island said until Thursday there was no activity showing that preparations were being made for the execution of the three extremists - Amrozi (47), his brother Mukhlas (48), and Imam Samudra (38).
In the meantime, reliable police sources indicated that, barring unforeseen obstacles, the execution of the three death row convicts would be carried out on Friday evening (Nov 7).
Attorney General Hendarman Supandji said last Friday the schedule for the execution of first Bali bombers Amrozi, Mukhlas and Imam Samudra remained early November.
"Early November. You can count on it. Early in the month means not in the middle. The middle of the month is the 15th. So, it will be before the middle of the month," he said.
He said, according to the existing rules, his office was not obliged to tell the public about the date of the execution. "I do not have the obligation to tell the public. Certainly it will be made known to the convicts," he said.
"There is a regulation about it. It will be made known to the convicts in time. At the time the convicts will be asked if they have something to tell or if they have a will," he said.
