Cirque du Soleil to Perform in Doha in September

Doha, June 06 (QNA) - Cirque du Soleil is set to perform at Doha's Aspire Dome on September 19 following the success of last year's Saltimbanco performance. Winner of 'Favorite Event' at DIYAFA, Qatar Choice Awards 2012, and returns to Doha with its signature production Dralion - a world-renowned performance based on its astounding acrobatics and its one-of-a-kind spectacle costumes. Supported by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), SDI Marketing and Chevrolet, the spectacular show is set to thrill local and regional audiences at the Aspire Dome with a run of six shows. We look forward to another sell-out crowd." Dralion is a signature Cirque du Soleil production acclaimed by more than seven million people worldwide since it premiered in 1999 in Montreal, Canada. Fusing the 3,000 year-old tradition of Chinese acrobatic arts with multidisciplinary approach of Cirque du Soleil, Dralion draws its inspiration from Eastern philosophy and its never-ending quest for harmony between humans and nature. The shows name is derived from its two emblematic creatures: the dragon, symbolizing the East, and the lion, symbolizing the West. (QNA)
