Anti-Obama communities in social networking site
New Delhi, Nov 6 (PTI) Barack Obama may have created
history by becoming the first Afro-American President of the
United States, but his historic victory seems to have not
gone down well with his opponents in that country who have
expressed their views on the cyberspace.
Within hours of Obama registering a decisive victory over
Republican John McCain, about 30 communities were registered
in popular social networking site 'Facebook' demanding his
impeachment even before he formally assumed office, saying
his policy will "destroy" America.
About 2,000 people have joined communities like 'Impeach
Barack Obama', 'Lets Impeach Barack Hussain Obama Now! and
'Impeach President-Elect Obama', asking people to "wake up"
against his "radical Leftist agenda that will destroy
America."
The mushrooming of the communities came even as Obama's
opponent McCain "urged all Americans to shed their
differences" to make the U.S. more stronger and better
country.
A group 'Impeach Barack Obama Now!', says: "Save America
now, impeach Obama to save us from his radical Leftist agenda
that will destroy America."
Another group quipped, "There are a lot of Americans out
there who do not fully understand the concept of Socialism or
Communism which is why they've elected Obama as President."
'Impeach Barack Obama' with over 1,000 members asks
people to "come on board" if they want to impeach Obama if he
fails to fulfill his promises as it take "approximately seven
seconds for a modern day President to violate oath" they took
in accordance with the U.S. constitution.
Referring to Obama's call for the "redistribution of
wealth" of rich Americans for their poor counterparts, a
blogger says the policy will pump the hardworking taxpayers'
money to lot of "lazy and idle people".
"While all our parents work hard day after day to put
food on the table, the money that we pay through taxes will be
paying for some lazy people sitting on their couch waiting for
the mail to come with their check and foodstamps," a blogger
wrote.
Digging into Obama's "little experience" as a Senator,
another group says the novice politician may lead the country
to a "disaster".
"Not only is Barack Hussain Obama has very little
experience as a senator but he is also supporter of
demolishing our countries nuclear weapons, which will make us
a perfectly open target once we withdraw the troops from
Iraq," it said.
Similarly another community which has 250-members opines,
"Obama has voiced support for various unconstitutional
programmes such as the assault weapons ban, universal
healthcare, and various schemes for wealth distribution. What
are we going to do about it? Impeach him! might as well start
before he gets in office".
Obama will be sworn in as the 44th United States'
President of the U.S. on January 20, 2009.
