N. Korea moves into quarterfinals in U19 Asian football championship

SEOUL, Nov. 6 (Yonhap) -- North Korea moved into the quarterfinals of an under-19
Asian football championship after a scoreless draw with China, the sport's
regional governing body said on its Web site Thursday.

North Korea drew 0-0 with China at Prince Mohamed bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam,
Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday (Korean time) but still managed to move to the
knock-out stage by finishing second in Group C, the Asian Football Confederation
said.
North Korea, who won the 2006 title, will now face Australia on Sunday for a
ticket to the semifinals. A berth in the semifinals of the 16-nation tournament
automatically guarantees a ticket to the under-20 World Cup scheduled for next
year in Egypt.
In a separate quarterfinals match, South Korea will face Japan on Saturday. South
Korea won the championship four years ago.
