Attorney General and Secretary General of French Foreign Ministry Sign Agreement

Doha, May 31 (QNA) - HE the Attorney General Dr. Ali bin Fetais Al-Marri signed an agreement with Secretary General of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pierre Sellal related to the Qatari-French School (Lycee Franco-Qatarien Voltaire). The agreement culminated efforts that have been made over the past recent years in partnership with the French side to develop a legal framework that takes into account the educational and cultural development and to work out new mechanisms to secure the commitment to the best standards of quality and Qatari and French educational systems and to attract the best qualified teachers and accredited to the Republic of France and some EU and other countries. The framework shall also take into account, the characteristics of the Qatari society and standards approved by the Supreme Education Council in Qatar, especially with regard to the teaching of Islamic sharia, Arabic language and the history of Qatar, in addition to the educational programme approved by the French Ministry of National Education, Youth, and Sport. Through this agreement Qatari students will be equipped to sit for all examinations and certificates prepared by French educational institutions. The educational programme at all stages relies primarily on three languages and two cultures. After obtaining the French high school certificate or the certificate of the International School of Geneva, students can join any university in the world. The French Foreign Ministry issued a statement that the Secretary-General of the French Foreign Ministry Pierre Sellal and Ali Bin Fetais Al-Marri, Board Chairman of the Qatari-French School, signed an agreement related to the school. The agreement will enable the evolution of the educational institution in accordance with the best conditions within the framework of the strong demand for Francophone education in Qatar.(QNA)
