THE LEGEND OF LOVE TO BE STAGED IN ALMATY
Baku, 5 November,(AzerTAj) - The famous ballet “Legend of Love” by Azerbaijani composer, People’s Artist of USSR Arif Melikov will be staged for the first time at the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater after Abay Kunanbayev in Almaty on November 9.
Written in 1961 on Nazim Hikmet’s libretto and choreographed by Yuri
Grigorovich, the ballet had been performed at Mariinski Theater in St-Petersburg at
the same time and four years later hit Bolshoi Theater in Moscow.
The Alamty production will star Kazakh actors Doscan Tabyldy, Farhad Buriyev, Nelya
Krebayeva and Zhanel Tukeyeva.
