INVESTMENT POSSIBILITIES OF THE CASPIAN REGION DISCUSSED IN SCOTLAND
Baku, 5 November,(AzerTAj)- Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Great Britain Fakhraddin Gurbanov took part in the action passed in the Scottish city of Aberdeen. The action was devoted to investment possibilities of the Caspian region.
The goal of the action organized by the Agency of Trade and Investments of Great
Britain, the Society of England-Azerbaijan and the city administration of Aberdeen
was to acquaint the Scottish companies with new investment possibilities of the
Caspian countries, including Azerbaijan.
The action was attended by representative of the Agency of Trade and Investments of
Great Britain Bob Griner, delegation of the Society of England-Azerbaijan led by the
chairman Lord Fraser, and also the Mayor of Aberdeen, representatives of some of the
companies which are carrying out activity in oil and gas and other spheres.
Ambassador F. Gurbanov has in detail informed on projects carried out in Azerbaijan
in economic sphere.
Having noticed that development of non-oil sector is now a priority problem, the
diplomat told about global programs and the infrastructural projects carried out by
the government of Azerbaijan in this direction. It was noticed that in last report
of the World Bank “Doing Business” Azerbaijan has been specified as the state which
has reached the greatest progress in improvement of business climate. Having touched
upon economic relations between the Great Britain and Azerbaijan, Mr. Gurbanov has
underlined that these relations steadily extend, Great Britain is one of leaders on
volume of the foreign investments put in economy of Azerbaijan. Representative of
the Agency of Trade and Investments of Great Britain of B. Griner and the chairman
of the Society of England-Azerbaijan the Lord Fraser especially underlined the
presence of favorable business climate in Azerbaijan, prompt economic development of
the country in comparison with other countries of region.
