S. Korean parliament speaker sends congratulatory message to Obama
SEOUL, Nov. 5 (Yonhap) -- Kim Hyong-o, the speaker of the South Korean parliament, sent a congratulatory message to U.S. President-elect Barack Obama on Wednesday, Kim's office said.
Speaker Kim sent messages to both Obama and his running mate, Joe Biden,
congratulating them on their victory, but the speaker's office decided not to
reveal the contents of the letters, according to customary practice, an official
said.
However, Kim said he was sure that the change Obama will pursue as president will
open a dynamic future for the U.S., and that the U.S., under Obama's leadership,
will contribute to peace and stability in the world economy, according to the
official.
