POLICE ARREST HIGH-SCHOOL STUDENT FOR USING, SELLING HASHISH
Jakarta, Nov. 6 (ANTARA) - Police detained a senior high-school student identified as Dwi Umar Sadam (15 years old) for using and selling hashish in the Pemancingan Simprug area, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, on Thursday.
The arrest was made following a tip-off from local people, Commissioner Sutrisno of the Police's narcotics and other illicit drugs unit, said here on Thursday.
"After receiving the tip-off, some of my men immediately headed for the location to check out the information and they found Dwi (the student) using hashish," he said.
The police detained Dwi for keeping 3 grams of hashish and later brought him to the South Jakarta police office.
Dwi admitted to the police he was a consumer as well as dealer of hashish, according to Sutrisno.
The suspect also said he had obtained the illicit drug from someone called "Bule" in West Jakarta. The police later arrested Bule as well and brought him to South Jakarta police office for further investigation.
