BODY OF UNIDENTIFIED BOY FOUND AFLOAT IN PALU
Palu, Central Sulawesi, Nov 6 (ANTARA) - Body of an unidentified boy was found afloat in a riverside pond at Lolu Selatan village in Palu, Central Sulawesi, at 6:30 on Thursday morning.
Police so far have yet to know the identity of the body, even hundreds of local residents who came to the location where the body was found, were unable to identify it.
"The body is not likely of a boy who lives somewhere around here," a Lolu Selatan resident said at the scene.
Police then evacuated the body to Bhayangkara hospital for an autopsy, while waiting for the boy's parents or family to pick the body up.
From a tentative examination, police found no sign of violent act against the boy but blood was oozing from his nostrils.
"The boy might drown when he was swimming in this pond," said another Lolu Selatan resident.
He said the boy was about 6 years old, about 90 centimeters tall with brown skin and thin hair.
According to him, the body was discovered by a student who was passing the pond on a motorcycle.
"Seeing the lifeless body floating in the pond, the student shouted and in a twinkling of an eye the local people poured to the location where the body was found," the resident said.
He added that the finding of dead body in the same pond was the third in the past two years.
