Asian Youth Games Virtual Torch Arrives in Doha

Doha, May 28 (QNA) - Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) received the Asian Youth Games virtual Torch, which arrived in Doha earlier Tuesday coming from UAE's City of Dubai. The torch will continue its tour through 72 Asian cities to draw the attention of youth worldwide. The virtual Torch Relay for the 2013 Asian Youth Games in Nanjing was launched on May 8. QOC's Director of Sports Affairs Khalil Ibrahim Al Jaber, head of Qatari administrative delegation to the Games Issa Ali Ghanem, were in the reception ceremony at QOC's VIP lounge. The public in Qatar followed the Virtual Torch on the internet and on the dedicated screens in the QOC building and at the committee's booths in the shopping malls. Qatar Olympic Committee will be represented, in 2nd Asian Youth Games , NanJing 2013, by athletes who will compete in 11 sports; football, basketball, handball, fencing, shooting, squash, swimming, judo, tennis, athletics and table tennis.
