MINISTER : INDONESIA NEEDS TO CHANGE ITS TERRORIST IMAGE

Jakarta, Nov 5 (ANTARA) - Indonesia needS to change its terrorist image toward countries, foreign affairs minister Hasan Wirayudha said observing 20 years of Australia-Indonesia partnership here Tuesday (4/11).

"The public impage about Indonesia as a threat to Australia can be done by people to pepole contacts, and this process has been done by the government to change the miss-perception," Hasan Wirayudha said.

About the Australian travel warning to Indonesia, the minister said that the warning was not only issued by the Australian government, we in Indonesia also have the same concern like bomb threats, and the imminent execution of Amrozy et al.

"In fact, the number of Australian tourists coming to Indonesia had increased this year," he said.

"AII is a program made by the Australian foreign affairs ministry to support bilateral relations consisting of art, education, youth, inter faith relations, media and sports," Tim Lindsay, AII council board chairman said.

"Australia-Indonesia relations recently had been closest in history, because both countries are now democratic, and two democratic countries can be easily do business with each other," He said.
