Mongolians grab medals in Judo World Masters

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Judoists of the national selected team competed in the Judo World Masters tournament which ran last weekend in Tyumen city, Russia. The events brought together top 16 judoists from 41 countries ranked by the International Judo Federation (IJF) per weight category. Mongolia was represented by 19 judoists. A State Honored Sportsman and Olympic bronze medalist S.Nyam-Ochir won a gold medal in the men’s 73 kg contest; an international master of sports D.Sumya also won a gold medal in the women’s 57 kg contest. International masters of sports G.Boldbaatar and A.Tsolmon grabbed silver medals in the men’s 60 kg and in women’s 52 kg contests, respectively. A State Honored Sportsman Kh.Tsagaanbaatar captured a bronze medal in the 73 kg category. By the team, the national team of Mongolia was ranked the second, following Japan with its three gold, two silver and two bronze medals. The third has become Brazil, winning one gold, three silver and two bronze medals.
