Indo-US ties on even keel, expected to grow under Obama: Cong

New Delhi, Nov 5 (PTI) The Congress Wednesday expressed
confidence that the Indo-U.S. ties, which are on a "sure and
even keel", are expected to grow under the leadership of
Barack Obama, who was elected as the 44th President of the
U.S.Wednesday.

"Obama represents youthful energy, exuberant dynamism and
a forward looking progressive mindset which is also the spirit
animating India," Congress spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi
told PTI.

He said the bedrock and foundation of Indo-U.S. relations
has been so strengthened by the United Progressive Alliance
(U.P.A.) and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that bilateral ties
are on a sure and even keel.

"These relations are therefore not dependent on the
personality or political affiliation of any U.S. president,"
Singhvi said.
