Deputy Premier Meets Officials

Doha, May 26 (QNA) - HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Ahmed Abdullah Al-Mahmoud met on Sunday with concerned bodies in Qatar to discuss putting into action the decisions of the International Donor Conference for Reconstruction and Development in Darfur, held in Doha on April 7 and 8,2013. HE Al-Mahmoud, explained that the grants and contributions announced by the State of Qatar, under the directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, have been approved to enable immediate implementation of the short-term development and reconstruction projects as well as the continuation of the preparations for the long-term projects. The meeting stressed the need to accelerate the formation of the follow-up mechanism adopted by the Conference under the chairmanship of the State of Qatar and the membership of the government of Sudan, Darfur Regional Authority, the United Nations and other development partners in order to develop the required plans to manage the implementation of the development projects, and expedite the implementation of the development strategy in Darfur.
