Doha, May 21 (QNA) - HE Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman and Managing Director of Qatar Petroleum, recognized today the dedication and service of 356 employees who have reached milestones of 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of service with the corporation.
Speaking at a special event held on the occasion, HE Dr. Al-Sada said, "It means a lot to us, at Qatar Petroleum, to have this kind of commitment by so many people. It is not just a testament of our status as a caring employer, but also an indication of the level of dedication and loyalty by our staff."
HE Dr. Al-Sada described the many years spent in service of QP as an affirmation of the important contributions to its continued growth. He said: "They are an important force behind the rapid development of Qatar's oil and gas industry, which is honoured by the patronage and guidance of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani."
His Excellency valued the commitment and contributions of QP staff and expressed pride in being part of the QP family. "This is why", he added, "we work hard to make it our home by providing all forms of support to you and to your well-being, including health, education, and safety."
The annual QP Continuous Service Award (CSA) Ceremony was attended by many QP directors and managers, the families of the awardees as well as by members of the media.
The QP staff who were honoured at the event consisted of 137 employees who have been working in QP for the past 20 years, 69 employees who have completed 25 years of service thus far, 79 employees who have already put in 30 years of service, 61 employees who have been part of the corporation for the past 35 years, and 10 employees who have recorded a remarkable 40 years of service with QP.
During the event, HE Dr. Al-Sada personally congratulated all the awardees, and he presented each of them with a Certificate of Appreciation and a gift as a token of gratitude for their long years of service with the corporation.
Organized by QP's Public Relations and Communications Department in partnership with QP's Administration Directorate, the CSA Ceremony primarily aims to give recognition to QP employees who have distinguished themselves by their many years of continuous service for the corporation. Following today's event for employees who have already completed between 20-40 years of service, QP will be holding a second CSA Ceremony tomorrow to honour a total of 734 employees who have been serving the corporation for the past 10 and 15 years.
