Al Sadd Wins Three, Khalfan Bags QFA's Player of Year Award

Doha, May 20 (QNA) - Al Sadd football club bagged three awards while striker Khalfan Ibrahim was adjudged 'the Player of the Year' while Huessin Amute was named the Coach of the Year at the Qatar Football Association's (QFA) annual awards ceremony held here at the Aspire Dome. Khalfan Ibrahim, riding on ten goals this season, edged out Spanish teammate Raul and Al Khor's Madison for the coveted award. His performance was significant in Al Sadd's successful run over the last nine months. Al Sadd's Abdul Karim Hassan was named Young Player of the Year after beating contender Abdul Azizi of Al Kharaitiyat. Moroccan Amute guided Al Sadd to the Qatar Stars League (QSL) title win and then saw his side reach their Heir Apparent Cup and Emir Cup finals. Amute nudged Lekhwiya coach Belgian Eric Gerets and Al Khor's Romanian coach Laszlo Boloni for the Best Coach of the Year prize. The Best Team Manager Award went to Jaffal Kuwari of Al Khor. Al Sadd and Al Rayyan ran the best fans programmes during the 2012-13 season. (QNA)
