SDC to Graduate 179 Trainees from its First Step, Badr and Tajmeel Programs

Doha, May 18 (QNA) - The Social Development Center, a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development will be awarding 179 trainees from its First Step, Badr and Qatar International Beauty Academy (Tajmeel) programs with diplomas in a prestigious event scheduled to be held at the Qatar National Convention Center on Thursday, May 23rd. First Step is officially sponsored by ExxonMobil Qatar. In addition to each program's standard curriculum, graduates spent several extra hours on a monthly basis attending professional and vocational training sessions at SDC. While congratulating graduates and their families, Amal Al-Mannai, Executive Director, SDC, said, "We are extremely delighted on this occasion which marks the beginning of so many successful careers. All three programs, First Step, Badr and Tajmeel are designed to prepare young individuals entering the professional world to perform to perform efficiently and achieve new heights of excellence. A significant part of the Qatar National Vision 2030 is investing in and developing our human capital and we are proud to be doing just that at SDC and fulfilling our role in achieving this vision." Founded in 2005, First Step is a training program that focuses on the professional development of individuals within the age bracket of 18 to 30. The training helps individuals hone their existing skill set, as well as acquire practical administrative, problems solving, effective decision making, and strong communication skills, ensuring that they enter the workforce as confident professionals. The Badr program offers a suite of services with the aim of supporting both families and individuals fulfill their projects, ensuring that they become self-reliant through a variety of programs, including financial support systems, training and rehabilitation courses, marketing support, management consultancy, and incubation services, as well as motivational incentives such as nomination for the Reyada Awards for Qatari Entrepreneurs. A total of 10 female home-based entrepreneurs were recognized at last year's Badr awards ceremony for taking the initiative to start up and operate their own ventures. Further, the Badr program is designed to ensure successful final projects which will further enhance the standards of living and availability of professional opportunities for local families.
