HE Dr. Al Attiyah: Humanitarian Dimension Represents a Key Element in Qatar's Foreign Policy

Kuala Lumpur, May 17 (QNA) - HE Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah, said here Friday that as per to the directives of HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani and HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the humanitarian dimension represents an important and essential aspect in Qatar's foreign policy, through the effective and important humanitarian roles Qatar has been carrying out in different parts of the world to help the needy people and alleviate suffering of those who were affected by disasters, wars and crises anywhere in the world regardless of their religion, race, color or doctrine. HE the Minister made the remarks at the opening session of the Global Forum on Peace and Security in Islam, held last night at the Institute for Diplomacy and Foreign Relations in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, under the slogan, "Islam and diplomacy'. In his speech, HE Al Attiyah explained that the wise leadership of the State of Qatar had realized the various dimensions of the new world order and thus worked to cope with this system and openness to the world, where the Qatari diplomacy was praised by many world countries, organizations and bodies for its role, efforts and initiatives made to resolve a large number of problems and issues at the regional and international levels. The Qatari senior official added that Qatar's foreign policy has emerged from the visions of the wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani and HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs , noted that Qatar's foreign policy formed from the basic principles "of the state of Qatar through its national heritage persuant to the national values" and principles of the Islamic religion. HE Al Attiyah thanked the Malaysian Government and people for the warm reception, generous hospitality and good arrangements for convocation of the forum, which was held in wake of the circumstances, the political, economic and social changes now on the rise in different parts of the world.
