16th Conference of ATO Concludes Sessions

Doha,May 16 (QNA) -The three-day 16th Conference of the Arab Town Organization (ATO) concluded with participation of more than 600 ministers , officials of municipalities and experts of the urban issues in additions to representatives of the regional and international organizations. Deliberations in the conference dealt with a number of issues relating to the urban planning, environment,urban poverty and transport and the climate change, the water and waste management in cities and municipalities as well as local government councils in the Arab countries and in the world. Director of Doha Municipality and Head of the Higher Committee of the 16th conference of ATO, Engineer Mohammed Ahmed al Sayed,said the Doha declaration which is issued Wednesday came to meet the aspirations and ambitions of the Arab cities to be have active presence in the regional and international forums. He welcomed all the Arab countries" delegations and the regional and international organizations and institutions which have been participated in the conference and contributing in the crystallization of the recommendations and proposals include in Doha declaration.(QNA)
