AFESD grants $ 3.3mln as urgent aid for affected regions due to flood
SANA'A, Nov. 04 (Saba)-A memorandum of understanding was signed here in Sana'a on
Tuesday between Yemen and Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD).
Under the memo, the fund would offer urgent aid at $ 3.3 million to help in relief
efforts exerted to affected regions in Hadramout and Maharah governorates.
The memo was signed by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of
Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi and board chairman of
the fund Abdul-Latif al-Ahmad.
Al-Arhabi valued initiative of the fund to offer this urgent grant to contribute in
efforts of the government to tackle damages of the flood.
On the other hand, the board chairman of the fund visited the location of the new
Sana'a international airport project where he listened from the chairman of The
Civil Aviation and Metrology Authority over the achievements of the project.
