Steps to join WTO reviewed

GENEVA, Nov. 04 (Saba) - Deputy minister of Foreign Khalid al-Akwa'a has met in
Geneva with deputy general director of the World Trade Organization WTO Alejandro
Jara.

The two discussed efforts Yemen is making to join the WTO, positive steps taken in
this regard and the outcomes of the fifth round between Yemen the organization which
was held late last month.



The meeting also dealt with ways to activate steps taken for Yemen's accession into
the WTO through suitable offers and revisions to Yemen's future commercial
commitments and the WTO efforts for the joining.

Al-Akwa'a affirmed Yemen is keen to join the organization by the next year.

Jara said the WTO appreciates Yemen's keenness to accede into it, adding it will do
its utmost to facilitate the accession.
