Republican decree ratifies Int'l treaty on disabled rights

SANA'A, Nov. 04 (Saba) - Republican decree No. 47 for 2008 issued on Tuesday
approving the International Convention on Protection and Promotion of the Rights of
Persons with Disabilities and the optional protocol hereto.

The parliament approved the International Convention and its optional protocol on
October 18.

It prompted the government to finalize procedures of ratification process and
accession to this convention and to take the required legislative measures according
to the article (4) of convention and other related articles to make the convention
takes effect.

The convention's main goal is to protect and ensure the rights of persons with
disabilities equally with others in all human rights and enhancing the basic rights
and boosting up their dignity.
