NHRC Participates in Democracy Meet in Egypt

Doha, May 08 (QNA) - NHRC will participate in the activities of an international seminar on the development of democracy in the Arab world convening in Cairo, Egypt, 9th -10th May, 2013. The event titled "Development and Democracy and Developing the System of Arab Region", will be held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo. It is organized by the Arabic Network for Human Rights Institutions (ANHRI) led by Qatars NHRC in collaboration with Arab League, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and Arab Organization for Human Rights. Several issues including, the implementation of good governance in the Arab region, task of transferring into democracy and its connection with good governance, methods of development, and how to achieve social justice will be discussed in the seminar, H.E. NHRC Chairman, Dr Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri has said in a press conference. Nationalism and development are basic factors for social justice, empowerment of women in Arab region and upgrading them in the Arab League will also be in the list of discussion. (QNA)
