AZERBAIJAN AND NORWAY: DIALOGUE OF IMPRESSIONS
Baku, 4 November,(AzerTAj)On November 3, art gallery of the Azerbaijan Museum Center hosted an exposition titled “Azerbaijan and Norway: dialogue of impressions”.
Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Museum
Center and Museum of Archeology (Stavanger, Norway), the exhibition has become a
third pace of joint Azerbaijani-Norwegian training seminars for museum personnel.
The exposition is a final event within the international project of collaboration of
Azerbaijani and Norwegian museums launched this year in February.
The works on display comprise Oslo and Stavanger views, photos from the famous
Norwegian museums like the Museum of Archeology, Norwegian Petroleum Museum,
Children’s Museum, Munch Museum, Norwegian Viking Ship Museum and others, presented
by Azerbaijani restorers and museum managers. Norwegian colleagues in the person of
Anne Kari Scar, manager of the Stavanger’s Museum of Archeology and Anne Tove
Austubo, curator of the Stavanger Maritime Museum, have displayed pictures of Baku
Inner City (Icheri Shekher), Fire-Worshippers’ Temple in Sarakhany (Azerbaijan) and
Azerbaijani provinces.
Minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Abulfaz Garayev, who has opened the
show, stressed that the project was quite interesting and absorbing. According to
the minister, museums of Azerbaijan are exceeding the bounds of the country, making
the Azerbaijani culture center of international attention.
Ambassador of Norway to Azerbaijan Yon Ramberg, Head of the Museum of Archeology
Harald Yakobsen attended the opening ceremony. The exhibition will close on November
4.
