DFI to Host Short Filmmaking Workshop

Doha, May 07 (QNA) - Doha Film Institute (DFI) will host on Thursday a free workshop on short filmmaking that will be organized by the festival of TROPFEST Arabia to inspire domestic talents to submit a film to TROPFEST Arabia 2013. The workshop will teach participants and encourage them to submit an entry for TROPFEST Arabia 2013, through the screening of some films that participated in the previous two editions of the festival and reached final stages. The workshop will also discuss the creative capacities of filmmakers and highlight the short filmmaking as an educational phase ahead of making longer movies. TROPFEST Arabia is the Arab version of TROPFEST, considered to be the biggest short film festival. Nationals from Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, UAE and Yemen are eligible to participate in it.
