QNA Announces New Training Courses

Doha, May 06 (QNA) - Qatar News Agency (QNA) announced Monday a variety of specialized training courses in the field of media for the new fiscal year (2013 - 2014), aiming at improving the skills of the Qatari cadres working in this developing domain. The new courses cover all different areas of press, including the written press, radio and television. The courses will be launched on May 27 by holding a three-day training on diction and public speaking, to be followed by another three-day course on searching the source of news on the internet on June 17. On October 7, QNA will organize a specialized course on the modern skills in drafting and preparing press news, and then a three-day course on news assessment in November, and another specialized course on the technological developments in the media domain in December. In January, QNA will host a training course on news agencies and making news for three days, to be followed by a training in preparing media reports in case of disasters in February. A three-day training course on writing economic and financial news and reports will be held in March, and then a training course on editing and writing news for children in April. QNA Director of Media Relations Department Ahmad Mohammad al-Buainein said that the new training courses come in the wake of the great success accomplished by the previous specialized courses organized by QNA over the last year. This year, QNA has cooperated with the training and developing journalists center in France (CFPJ) to train the participants in some courses, Al-Buainein noted, adding that the CFPJ specializes in the development of journalists inside and outside of France for more than 60 years, and in journalism training in all its forms. He pointed out that QNA will provide in its courses this year evaluation forms aiming at improving the participants and acquiring with high skills to help them in their working lives. The course will be presented in Arabic and English languages, in addition to four training courses for children. Al-Buainein noted that the training courses organized by QNA on an ongoing basis come in implementation the Emiri decision No. 51 of 2009, which mandated Qatar News Agency to hold training courses for Qatari media professionals in order to improve their capabilities through continuous training and development programs.
