President Saleh visits Hodeidah Seaport, Marine Base

HODEIDAH, Nov. 03 (Saba) - President Ali Abdullah Saleh paid on Monday an inspection
visits to the Seaport, Coastguard Authority and the Marine Base at Kathib area of
Hodeidah governorate.

During his visit to Hodeidah seaport, President Saleh was briefed on the commercial
activities volume in the seaport, emphasizing the significance to widen its economic
activities.

The president also urged the officials, during his visit to the Coastguard Authority
for Red Sea Sector and the Marine Base at Kathib area, to double their efforts to
safeguard the Yemeni coast from sneaking and smuggling.

He praised the role marine forces plays to encounter piracy acts and protect the
Yemeni regional waters, pointing out the importance of keeping on outfitting these
forces with up-to-date technical and military equipment to be able to do their
essential roles under any circumstances.

Moreover, President Saleh has paid a visit to Kathib seaport, inspecting its
implementation progress. He accentuated the significance of speeding up carrying out
