Ministry of Awqaf to Open Islamic Centre in Croatia

Doha, May 01 (QNA) - The Islamic Centre, which was constructed by a generous donation from HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, in the city of Rijeka, Croatia will be open on Saturday. The edifice, which will be opened by a delegation from the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) is strategically located in the city, on an area of 10.816 square meters, making it one of the largest Islamic centers in Europe, an architectural masterpiece and a message that reflects the values of goodness and tolerance. The center which will be run by the Islamic Society of Croatia consists of Three floors, and contains a mosque with a 32 meters minaret, in addition to a school to teach the Holy Quran, a kindergarten, clinic, library, conference hall and meeting rooms.
