Iran-China trade to exceed $25b

Iran's Deputy Minister of Commerce Mehdi Ghazanfari said on Tuesday that the trade between Iran and China will exceed dlrs 25 billion in the current year.

In a meeting with the governor of the Chinese province of Xinjiang Uygur, Ghazanfari said that the current dlrs 20 billion trade shows determination of both Iranian and Chinese officials to develop economic cooperation.

Ghazanfari, who is also the head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, expressed pleasure with Iran-China the excellent political ties.

Referring to the declaration of Mashhad (northeastern Iran) and Urumchi (northwestern China that is the capital of Xinjiang province) as sister cities, Ghazanfari called it good ground for expansion of ties.

He added that an Iranian expert delegation will travel the Chinese province to study its potentials for operating a direct flight from the city of Mashhad and vice versa./end
