Qatar Provides Aid To Educational Sector in 36 Countries in 2011, 2012

Doha , April 29 (QNA) - The State of Qatar have provided aid to more than 36 countries around the world in 2011 and 2012, HE Assistant Foreign Minister for International Cooperation Affairs Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Jabor Al Thani said Monday. Speaking at the Educate A Child Initiative high level strategic meeting, HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammaed bin Jabor Al Thani said that the State of Qatar, under the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani understands the importance of supporting education all across the globe. He added that the State of Qatar was adopting a number of initiatives that supported the educational system of crisis-hit countries. HE Minister's Assistant for International Cooperation Affairs said that the strategy of Qatar Development Fund focuses particularly on backing initiative related to reforming the education sector in struggling countries. He praised the Educate A Child initiative as one that will help the international community achieve the Millennium Development Goal, marked down by the United Nations. He stressed that link the right to learn with development will guarantee an accelerating growth in all world countries, calling on the international community to provide all the necessary financial, political and legislative backing necessary to support the Educate A Child Initiative. The initiative has already been backed by a number of prestigious international personalities, topped by HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, he noted. (QNA)
