QSA Chief Commends Human Developments Efforts

Doha, April 28 (QNA) - HE Chairman of Qatar Statistics Authority Sheikh Hamad bin Jabor bin Jassim Al Thani said Sunday that Qatar was setting the example to the world in terms of Human Development thanks to the wise leadership of Qatar which considers human development as a pillar for sustainable development. HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jabor bin Jassim Al Thani was speaking at a ceremony organized by the Statistics Authority after Qatar was selected as the top Arab country on the annual International Human Development Report 2013. HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Saad bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, who is also the Secretary-General of the Supreme Education Council (SEC) attended the ceremony. The State of Qatar was ranked 36th worldwide in this year's report. HE the Chairman of the Statistics Authority noted that Qatar's advanced position was not a surprise, praising the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani which focused on Human development as a main component of its development strategy. This was clear when human development was regarded as one of the five pillars of the Qatar National Vision 2030, he added.
