Qatar Foundation Launches Passport to Passion Challenge for Youth

Doha, April 25 (QNA) - Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development will be kicking off its Passport to Passion challenge tomorrow afternoon at the Museum of Islamic Art Park, as part of an ongoing series of activities designed around its partnership with FC Barcelona. Qatar Foundation has developed a fun-filled programme for children to test and build their football skills. The Passport to Passion weekend sessions will be held from 3pm to 6pm in various locations around Doha to engage the local community in a variety of football activities and coaching sessions. Any sport and football enthusiast who is between 5 and 15 years of age is invited to attend and try to complete a series of skills tests. Youngsters are encouraged to show off all the amazing things they can do with a football, including keep-up skills and technical abilities of co-ordination and accuracy, while having plenty of fun with their friends at the same time. The activities have been specifically designed to provide young people with the satisfaction of learning a host of essential footballing skills, such as agility and goalkeeping strategies. All participants will receive a special, custom-made, Passport to Passion and be given success stamps as they complete each activity. The challenge will culminate in a grand finale at the Awsaj Academy pitch in Qatar Foundation in late May. Qatar Foundations partnership with FCB is dedicated to encouraging youth across the world to tap into their potential and passions through the pursuit of excellence in sports and education. Through the positive values that sport and education instill in youth of all ages, Qatar Foundation and FCB are keen to present initiatives that foster teamwork and healthy, active lifestyles. The Passport to Passion activities will provide an opportunity to share these values with youngsters and to teach them fundamental skills to improve their performances and help them rise to any challenges with a positive can-do attitude.
